A Slow Studio offering
Bespoke estate atlases for properties worth listening to.
An exploration of the true spirit of a Place. Atlas Patrimonia is a bespoke illustrated record of an estate, made slowly, curated, in plates and bespoke pieces.
This is a deep inquiry. It is a portrait of the place, and a portrait of the people who live there.
There was a long time when serious properties had books and plates made of them. Watercolours of the gardens, drawings of the elevations, surveys of the woods, bound volumes of all of it kept in the library. The habit lapsed. What replaced it, mostly, was estate-agent photography and Google Maps.
The pleasure of holding a beautiful illustrated record of a place you love has not gone anywhere. Some properties still ask for it. We make these for the people who still want to give it.
Three scales of work, each suited to a different relationship with the property. Pricing shared on inquiry.
A single illustrated plate. The estate map, or a detail of it. The plan of the main building. Made to be framed and hung.
A working set of pieces for a property in active use including a botanical portrait of the grounds and circulation layout plans. Plates, framed wall editions for principal rooms, and small bound booklets for guests.
The full custom design set. Drawn from any combination of plates, framed editions, booklets, and written text. Made to be passed with the property.
Four movements, taken slowly. Three weeks to several months, depending on scale.
A first conversation about the property and what it asks for. We agree the scope and the form.
Drone capture of the estate, ground photography, study of existing plans and historical material. For properties at distance, we coordinate local capture.
Plates composed and rendered in studio. Drafts shared with the client at key stages.
Print, presentation, and binding. The work is delivered in person wherever the property allows.
Every Atlas Patrimonia begins with a property and a conversation. Tell me about yours.
